Total Completed sets: 6
Partial sets: 8

Our goal is 60 sets so let's try to pick things up as much as we can team. My personal strategy is now to find a quicker pattern using chunkier yarn so I can make my sets quicker. There's only two more months left so let's give it a good try and keep a few more people warm come winter. Thanks again for all your efforts ladies. -Sandra

My favorite free online hat pattern

I just had to share! It has the feel of knit but its really all single crochets and chain stitches. It's almost a one size fits all.

June 2012 Photo Gallery

This is my darling son modeling the set I finished this month. It's Caron Simply Soft in olive green using the timeless scarf pattern I posted last month. I am addicted to this yarn. It is ridiculously soft. Have two more skeins of this yarn to complete and then I'm going...to...try to...pull... away! Want to try some new brands. :)

June Tally 2012

This summer is sizzling and I've been finding myself trying to enjoy the season while still taking care of myself. I am expecting a baby in October. Crocheting is the perfect way for me to relax when I need a break. Here's our grand total so far:

4 Complete Sets
2 Partial Sets (one hat and one scarf)

This year we are definitely crawling up slowly to our goal. I'm not sure of we will make the 60 sets the Lighthouse Center requested, but I will surely try. I encourage everyone to try as well and we still might be able to warm up the adults that will need our help come winter.

Timeless Scarf Pattern

This is the scarf pattern I'm using on my current project with olive green Caron yarn. I'm even thinking of making this one for myself.

I'm expecting my baby in October so I know I'm going to need a new coat this winter. I'll have to wait to purchase that before making my scarf. Enjoy the pattern!

Project 2012 Unveiled: The Lighthouse Center

Our 2012 Project is officially kicking off as of now! The Lighthouse Center in Virginia Beach needs 60 cold weather sets to give out during Winter 2012. The majority of their population is male so let's keep most sets gender neutral. For our purposes, a set consists of a hat and scarf (mittens, gloves, earmuffs, etc. would be nice but are not mandatory). Let's try to make it to our goal of 60 sets by November 1. Like last year, I will request a tally once a month just to gauge where we are as a group. I will write everyone for our first tally on June 1. Dust off those hooks and needles and let's get to work ladies!
